Ilus Ray Mackey, 87, Elizabethtown, Kentucky and a native of Albany, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016. He served as President of the Kentucky Farm Bureau from 1978 to 1991. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne K. Houston Mackey, his parents, Ilus and Myrtle Mackey and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, Horace and Everett Mackey, and a sister, Elizabeth Tuggle.

He is survived by seven children, AnneRae Wright and Jack, Ray Allan Mackey and Jan, Scott Mackey and Karen, David Mackey and Stephanie, Roger Mackey, Carol Hinton and Steven, and Sarah Mackey and Nils Samuels; a brother, Herbert (Vera) Mackey; Alberta Mackey, Nicholasville, and Melvina Mackey Brown, Burkesville; also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time at Gilead Baptist Church in Elizabethtown with final resting place in Mackey Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, which is conducting the arrangements.
