Park board regular meeting

The Recreation Park Board will meet in regular session Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the general public.

Fiscal Court regular meeting

Clinton County Fiscal Court will meet in regular session Thursday, May 19 at 5 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom of the courthouse. The meeting is open to the public.

Head Start now accepting applications

Lake Cumberland Head Start is now accepting applications for three and four year old children in the Clinton County area to participate in the 2016-2017 school year.

Head start is a child development program that provides comprehensive services to income eligible parents and families with special needs. Qualified staff operates a center-based facility that is developmentally appropriate for children three to five years old. The center provides an environment with numerous learning opportunities and learning experiences that meet the needs of young children.

Applications can be picked up at the Head Start center Monday- Friday between the hours of 8:00 am-2:00 pm.

Cadence Miller begins annual

Pennies for Paws fund drive

Cadence Miller is leading her second annual Pennies for Paws during the month of May. All money raised is used to provide pet food for the Clinton County Animal Shelter. Cadence has placed several jars in the Clinton County Middle School to allow students to participate in this great cause for our county’s animals. Community donation jars are located at the following businesses: Bowlin Feed Store, Albany Full Service Station, Albany Animal Clinic and Dyer Drug Store. Your support is appreciated in helping reach of goal of $168. This amount would furnish the Animal Shelter with a 40 lb. bag of food for 12 months. 30-4p

Youth football camp is June 11

CCHS Football will be hosting the first annual Football Camp for grades 1st -6th on June 11th from 8am-3pm Cost is $30 per child.

Campers will learn offense and defense drills and compete for a trophy in areas of Punt, Pass and Kick.

A light lunch and drinks will be provided.

Camp forms can be picked up and dropped off at Mattress Plus in Albany, or you may call 931-854-7584 to obtain a registration form.

ATC Steering Committee

meeting/Awards Day

The Clinton County Area Technology Center (ATC) Steering Committee will meet Thursday, May 12 from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the Learning Center auditorium. The meeting will also include presentation of student achievement awards.

VFW Bicycle Derby scheduled

Albany VFW Post #1096 annual Bicycle Derby will be held Saturday, May 21 at the VFW Post/Ballfield on Hopkins Street in Albany for all children ages 2-13. Bike safety inspections will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with races starting at 1 p.m. Entry forms will be handed out during inspections. The event is sponsored by VFW Post #1096, American Legion Post #135 and local businesses. No entry fee!
