Vernon McKinley “Kenny” Cole, 76, Albany, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Vernon George and Lea (Jones) Cole and was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lynn “Motor” Cole, four brothers, Stanley, Wesley, Norman and Wayne Cole, two sisters, Ida Mae Smith and Kay Glidewill, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Cole.
He is survived by five sons, Jeffery Cole, Gregory (Tonia) Cole, Randy, Kenny Lane and Larry Cole, all of Albany; a daughter, Lesa (Eric) Leonard, Carthage, Tennessee; two brothers, Quenton Cole, Albany; Billy Wendell (Sheila) Cole, Monticello, Kentucky; also six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Cole and Bro. John Mabrey officiating. Final resting place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to help pay final expenses and may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are being made through Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany.
