Catch a Rainbow Kids Fishing Derby

The 30th annual Catch a Rainbow Kids Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, June 4 at 9 a.m. at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, located approximately 12 miles south of Jamestown on Hwy. 127 South, below Wolf Creek Dam. There will be five age groups for children five through 15 and a Kid’s Fishing Pool for ages one to four from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. (Poles furnished for kiddie pool only.) Age groups and fishing times are as follows: 5-6, 9-10 a.m.; 7-8, 10:15-11:15 a.m.; 9-10, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 11-12, 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.; 13-15, 2-3 p.m. Register 30 minutes prior to fishing time. There will be lots of prizes, and fishing assistance available. Bring your own fishing tackle (no fly rods.) The event is organized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Friends of Wolf Creek NFH, Inc. and Catch a Rainbow Committee.
