What was originally believed to have been a bad situation this past Sunday afternoon, June 12, ended with a positive outcome for law enforcement and the entire community.

The situation began around mid-afternoon Sunday when Albany Police Officer Rick Riddle was dispatched to a scene in north Albany around the intersection of U.S. 127 and Virginia Avenue in reference to something discovered by a man walking in that area.

When Officer Riddle arrived, he said he encountered a trash bag along the side of the road that contained clothing, toys and other items and upon further investigation he found under the garbage bag what appeared to be a small human skull.

“It looked real,” Officer Riddle stated. In fact, he said when he first saw the object, he almost became sick thinking it was that of a real deceased baby.

Upon discovery of the ‘object’ he contacted Kentucky State Police and the Clinton County Coroner’s Office to assist in the investigation.

The skull-like object was taken to the coroner’s office for examination and there it was discovered that the skull was actually not human at all, but rather that of a “baby doll,” as seen in the picture here.

Although the discovery turned out with a positive result, it did have the entire community and social media buzzing most of the afternoon Sunday, as the street was blocked off during the investigation as even authorities thought the object may have been a human skull.

Officer Rick Riddle answered a dispatch call Sunday afternoon, and discovered the “skull” like object in this photo. As can be seen, it looked totally human and prompted an investigation which later revealed the object was actually that of a doll. The doll head was discovered in north Albany about mid-afternoon Sunday.
