Prentis Walter Edwards, 78, Albany, passed away Thursday, June 23 in Albany. He was the son of the late Frank Leonard and Mildred (York) Edwards and was also preceded in death by a son, Jackie Randall Edwards, a daughter, Doris Ann Edwards, three brothers, Dennis, Eugene, and A. B. Edwards, and his former wife, Ina “Sis” Edwards.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Charlie) Stearns and Saundra Edwards Cross; two brothers, Frankie (Mary) and Bobby Edwards, all of Albany; two sisters, Gwendoline Jones, Albany; Wanda Lene Williams, New Castle, IN; also four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Chaplain Michael Cooper officiating. Final resting place in Lands Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements were made through Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany.
