A salute to the healthy lifestyle change for Wanda Mullins
My journey started about a year and half ago, when for some odd reason I stepped on the scales at work just goofing off.
When I looked down my heart dropped, I weighed over 200 pounds. It was then that I decided something had to change.
I had let myself go for many years, worrying about others. I am a stress eater, it’s my comfort when I am down and out.
I remember asking God for help that night, because I have a daughter who needs me to be healthy for her.
Clinton County Healthy Hometown has had a big impact on my life, when they involved the school employees to become more active. I had already lost some weight but with friends on board with me it has made the journey easier.
I have changed my eating habits, I exercise at least five nights a week and drink lots of water. Although the struggle never ends, I now have more good days than bad days. It’s not just a diet for me, it’s a lifestyle change with ups and downs.
But now when I step on the scales my heart flutters with excitement, because as of today I have lost 90 pounds.
