A Russell County man remains hospitalized at the UK Medical Center following a three-vehicle wreck in southern Russell County on Friday afternoon.

Russell County Chief Deputy Nick Bertram continues to investigate the crash that happened at 3:30 p.m. Friday, approximately five miles south of Jamestown on U.S. 127.

Leonard D. Mann, 19, of Jamestown was southbound in a 2008 Dodge Avenger and attempted to pass another vehicle pulling a camper. In doing so, Mann collided head-on with a northbound 2002 Toyota Tacoma truck being driven by 36-year-old Michael Thurman of Albany. The initial impact resulted in Mann’s car then striking a second northbound vehicle, a 1999 Dodge Dakota, driven by Bobby Cross, 17, of Albany. Cross had one passenger in his truck, 19-year-old Latisha Flowers of Albany.

Leonard Mann and Latisha Flowers were both airlifted to the U.K. Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Michael Thurman and Bobby Cross were both transported by Russell County EMS to the Russell County Hospital for treatment with Cross later being transferred by private vehicle to the U.K. Medical Center for further treatment of a possible broken ankle.

According to the UK Hospital, Leonard Mann was listed in good condition and remains at the hospital with Flowers and Cross being released from the hospital over the weekend.
