Summer is always a busy season but for members of the agriculture community, staying on top of all that needs to be accomplished is often a daylight to dark, and more, chore.

Farming activity is at a high as we head into the final week of July, and among the work being completed across the county is the cutting, raking and baling of hay crops.

Above, Derek Guffey was working Monday afternoon baling his hay crop on the Perry Hay farm near the intersection of U.S. 127 and the Albany Bypass.
