Library seeking help for Summer Reading Blowout

Posted July 27, 2016 at 1:31 pm

We need your help for the youth in our community! We here at the Clinton County Public Library are hosting our “End of the Summer Reading Blowout” for the preschool through college age students this year on Friday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We will begin that morning with a snack for the students, and then we will have fun events such as crafts, games, storytelling and inflatables. Ronald McDonald will also he here to entertain the children with his magical fun! We will be serving them lunch along with ice cream sundaes towards the end of the program.

We want to make this day not only fun for the students, but also a beneficial one. Our goal for this day is to give each student a gift bag filled with school supplies and other school items they will need for the coming school year.

What can you do to make this day a spectacular one for our students? If you are able to donate any school items (i.g., notebooks, pencils, crayons, backpacks, binders, etc.) gift certificates, food items, prizes or anything to help in this event, we would be very grateful! We welcome any donation no matter how small.

We are expecting to have more students participate in this event than last year due to the struggling economy and level of unemployment in our community. We are planning to have 200/250 or more students attend. We want to thank you for your time and consideration in supporting the Clinton County Public Library and our county’s students. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
