There’s a new face at the Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park Golf Course. He’s Ron Roberts, the new Head Golf Professional. Roberts, who has been at Dale Hollow for about three weeks now, may be new to the area, but he’s no stranger to the golf course. He’s been a PGA Professional for 17 years. He was the Head Golf Professional at General Burnside Golf Course in Somerset for five years and the General Manager at Crooked Creek Golf Course in London, Kentucky for three years. The remainder of his career has been spent in Florida.Roberts’ passion is teaching, and he enjoys working with juniors, adult men and lady golfers. “I have worked with different high school golf coaches (and parents) throughout my career to develop the next generation of golfers,” Roberts said. “I will be promoting a strong teaching environment here at Dale Hollow. We have a full driving range that is open to everyone as well as a practice putting and chipping green.”Roberts offers lessons for juniors at $25 per lesson or five lessons for $100; and adults $35 per lesson or five lessons for $150. Roberts said Dale Hollow’s course is in great shape with Zoysia Grass in the fairways and Bent Grass on the greens. He said they are in the process of rebuilding the bunkers with the new Billy Bunker System and adding white sand. Roberts said there’s a new price for local golfers in the afternoons. The “Working Man’s Special” is available seven days a week starting at 4:00 p.m. You can play 18 holes with cart for $25 or 9 holes with cart for $15 per player.
“We welcome any groups, businesses, churches, and family reunions to host their golf outing at the Dale Hollow Golf Resort,” Roberts said. “We have a beautiful lodge overlooking Dale Hollow Lake with 60 newly renovated rooms and a great restaurant, not to mention our beautiful campgrounds, marina and putt putt golf course.” Roberts also said he is looking for volunteers to work at the golf course, so give him a call at the pro-shop at 270-433-7888. The lodge number is 270-433-7431.
