Association to meet

Clinton County Retired Teachers will meet Tuesday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Lee’s Famous Recipe. 43-2

School board work session and meeting

Clinton County Board of Education will hold a work session Thursday, August 11 at 4:30 p.m. and regular business meeting Monday, August 15 at 5 p.m., both at the Central Office board room and both are open to the general public. 43-2

Soccer practice scheduled

Girls 7th – 12th grade soccer practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. at the Clinton County Middle School soccer field. Any girl interested in playing during the 2016 school year are welcome to attend.

Legal and Financial Planning workshop for Alzheimer’s or dementia concerns

If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, the time for legal and financial planning is now. This workshop is for anyone who would like to know more about what legal and financial issues to consider and how to put plans in place.

Learn what legal decisions must be made, and how to use those decisions to protect and provide the best care possible for the person with dementia.

Explore the options available to pay for care, where to find additional resources, and how to make the best financial choices for both the person with dementia and the caregiver.

Guest speakers will include Somerset attorney Jay McShurley and Sonya Spoon of the Lake Cumberland Area Agency on Aging. It is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association.

The program will be held on Wednesday, August 17th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Pulaski County Senior Citizens Center located at 125 University Avenue, Somerset. Registration is required. Please contact 1-800-272-3900.

AA meeting 

AA will be meeting each Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church. 

VA Rep available 

Veterans and their families seeking benefits in south central Kentucky will now be able to find help and advice at a central location. Gary Jones, the Veterans Benefits Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 126 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Tuesday, second Thursday and third Monday of each month.
