Lonnie Luther Abbott, Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of Monticello and a native of Clinton County, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was the son of the late Arlen Roosevelt and Ivola Troxell Abbott and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Stephen Abbott and a sister, Betty Dyson.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Abbott, Somerset, Kentucky; two daughters, Nora (Robert) Marcum, Somerset, Kentucky; Susan (J.R.) Richardson, Monticello, Kentucky; two sons, Mark (Tatjana) Abbott, Germany; Michael Abbott, Corbin, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Kyle Marcum; Melissa, Houston and Hayley Abbott; Trey, Zachary, Melanie and William Richardson and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Colson.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life was held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the home of Hilda Richardson in Monticello. Memorial contributions are suggested to help pay final expenses. Arrangements were made through Norris-New Funeral Home of Burkesville, Kentucky.
