Like everyone, a good pizza now and again is a welcome relief from working in the kitchen to prepare family meals every day, and a recent Hunt Brothers Pizza meal not only was a tasty meal for Sandra McClard and her husband Leon, but paid off later in a way that was much bigger than either of them ever expected.
Sandra filled out a sweepstakes entry on top of the Hunt Brothers Pizza box and sent it in, then never really thought anything else about it. Until several weeks later, when she started receiving telephone calls telling her she was the winner of the sweepstakes and she needed to travel to Indiana to pick up her brand new Tracker boat rigged with a new Mercury outboard engine.
“I had actually forgotten about it until they called to get more info regarding winning the boat,” McClard said this week. “I immediately thought it was a scam and assumed I would not hear anything else. I spoke with the lady again and began to wonder if it was really true.”
McClard said that another contact later convinced her that she was, in fact, the lucky winner of the boat that is rigged out specially for fishing and duck hunting.
“A few days later, someone from Bass Pro called, again congratulating me on winning the boat,” McClard said. “More calls came from them and from the Tracker Boat representative and I was told that it was at Clarksville, Indiana and a date and time was set to go bring it home. It was quite surreal as I generally win nothing.”
