The CCHS girls’ and boys’ golf teams held a golf tournament, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 76 Falls Country Club. First place went to the team of Sawyer Stalcup, Barry Melton, Lance Sasser, and Tony Delk. Two teams tied for second place which included Trevor Groce, Macy Campbell (amateur), Egan Latham, and Steven Haddix for team one and Wayne Stockton, Chris Miller, Clayton Brown, and Mark Jenkins for team two. Individual winners for closest to the pin were Troy Dickerson and James Slaven and the straightest drive contest went to Terry Basham and Mike Riddle. In the ball drop contest, winners included Laramie Scott, Paula Key, Tammy Mott, Trisha Miller, Homer Riddle and Bobbie Bair and winning the ball farthest from the hole was Jared Akin. In the ball drop contest, golf balls were dropped from a helicopter on to a green. Winners were those whose purchased golf balls went into the hole. The helicopter use was donated by Leon Denney.
