An event that has enjoyed considerable growth in both participation as well as popularity will fill the Albany square area with automobiles of a broad spectrum of age and features, as well as hopefully hundreds of fans enjoying the summer weather.

This Saturday’s Annual Cruz’ In On The Square will be the seventh consecutive year the automobile show will bring enthusiasts to Albany for the opportunity to show off their rides and spend the summer afternoon talking with other owners and enthusiasts of the vintage and custom car hobby.

The event will be staged around the square from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will bring new and vintage cars and trucks as well as rat rods.

T-shirts for the first 100 cars entered will be provided and a 50/50 drawing will also be held, along with a host of door prizes that will be given out during the evening.

Concessions during the event will feature Hunter’s BBQ.

New to the Cruz’ In this year will be a Sock Hop, sponsored by Dyer Drug, in conjunction with that company’s observation of its 100th anniversary.

Several contests will be held during the Sock Hop event.

Musical entertainment during the Cruz’ In will be provided by Olds 88.

Last year’s Cruz’ In event featured about 135 vehicles and with favorable weather, event organizer Andy Flowers is hoping for an even larger gathering of vehicles as well as fans enjoying the afternoon and evening.
