Six persons indicted by Clinton Grand Jury

The Clinton County Grand Jury convened on Thursday, August 11 in regular session. A total of six individuals were named in true bills in open circuit court, with four of those being multi-count indictments.

The following indictments were handed down:

* Johnny L. Burchett, the alleged offenses of trafficking in a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine); possession of a controlled substance first degree (Class C and D felonies); possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor) and persistent felony offender first degree, the alleged offenses having occurred on or about June 24.

* Jonathan T. Dyer, the alleged offenses of fleeing or evading police; disregarding a stop sign; leaving the scene of an accident (misdemeanors); operating a motor vehicle on revoked or suspended license for DUI, third or subsequent offense; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, fourth offense; and wanton endangerment first degree (Class D felonies), alleged offenses having occurred on or about May 28 and May 29.

* Kevin P. Scott, the alleged offenses of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon (Class C felony) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (Class D felony), the alleged offenses having occurred on or about March 14.

* Travis C. Flowers, the alleged offenses of theft by unlawful taking –firearm (Class D felony) and theft or unlawful taking or disposition more than $500, the alleged offenses having occurred on or about September 7 and September 9, 2014.

* Matthew Thrasher, the alleged offense of flagrant nonsupport by being in arrearage over $13,000, the alleged offense having occurred between July 2008 and August 2016.

* Douglas Wade, the alleged offense of flagrant nonsupport, being in arrearage over $4,000, alleged offense having occurred between December 2008 and August 2016.
