When the Clinton County High School varsity football team takes the field against Caverna on September 16, at 7:00 p.m., they’ll also be making a significant difference off the field to a very special family.

Players will be hosting a special military appreciation event called Troop Dreams to help make a deserving military family wish come true. After final donations are totaled, the pre-approved, pre-qualified military family will be invited at a later date to have their wish granted right at Clinton County High School in front of players, students, faculty and fans for a “Chills, Cheers & Tears™ moment no one will ever forget.

Voluntary donations will be accepted at the gate and mini American Flags and Troop Dreams rally towels will also be sold at the game for $5.00 to honor our military with a “wave of patriotism” in the stands. Proceeds from donations and merchandise sales will be used to fund the wish of a pre-approved, pre-qualified military family in Kentucky or Tennessee who has not had the opportunity to experience many things we Americans take for granted due to deployment, injury, disability and/or financial limitations.

As Jamie Miller, Head Football Coach of Clinton County High School states, “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our young football players to experience a valuable educational life lesson and truly understand the importance of making a real difference to those less fortunate. We can’t wait to see the pride, patriotism, and emotion when the players, students and staff welcome the local military family and surprise them in person with their wish.”

Coach Miller continues, “We hope our players, students, and their families, friends and neighbors attend the game to make this a truly special military appreciation event and a great reflection on our entire community.

Local businesses are also going the extra yard to help. Keystone Foods has donated $500, Cowboy Charcoal has pledged $350, and other local business are also encouraged to donate whatever they can to make the wish as special as possible.
