Bulldogs drop to 2-2, back at home Friday night

Our Bulldogs dropped a close one this past Friday night to the Trojans of Webster County, 39-32 after a trip across the state to the western region of the Commonwealth.

After a fast 2-0 start, last weekend’s “L” takes the Bulldogs’ record to an even 2-2 mark as we prepare for a two-game home stand beginning this Friday night.

Coming to town will be the Colonels of Caverna from a much closer vicinity of Hart County.

Clinton County will be looking to get back on the winning side of the .500 mark with the fifth game of this 2016 season, the halfway point of the campaign.

Caverna on the other hand, will be coming to Bulldog Field with the hopes of picking up it’s first win of this season, bringing 0-4 record to Albany after losing to it’s in-county rival, the Hart County Raiders (2-2) this past Friday night, 62-22.

Kickoff for the Bulldogs-Colonels battle is set for 7:00 p.m.

Should be a warm night for football, with a forecast of only a slight chance for showers and kick-off temperatures expected to be in the high to mid-70s. Sweatshirts, shorts and maybe an umbrella just in case.

Friday’s game a special night for recognizing troops

A final reminder that Friday’s game against Caverna will also be special night to help a military family with Troop Dreams Military Appreciation night.

Voluntary donations will be accepted at the gate and mini American Flags and Troop Dreams rally towels will also be sold at the game for $5.00 to honor our military with a “wave of patriotism” in the stands.

Proceeds from donations and merchandise sales will be used to fund the wish of a pre-approved, pre-qualified military family in Kentucky or Tennessee who has not had the opportunity to experience many things we Americans take for granted due to deployment, injury, disability and/or financial limitations.

Soccer Dawgs headed to All ‘A’ State

Congrats are in order to our Bulldogs Soccer squad on qualifying for the All ‘A’ Classic State Tournament, after defeating Monroe County Thursday night in regional action.

The Dawgs will face the Region 3 winner, Owensboro Catholic, in a match at Owensboro this Saturday, September 17, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Good luck Dawgs!

All ‘A’ golfers at the state

A couple of our golfers had a pretty good outing last Saturday during the All ‘A’ Classic State Tournament in Pulaski County.

Playing at Woodson Bend, our Lady Golf Dawgs finished the day in 9th place in the tournament in team play and Lady Dawg London Honeycutt shot an 18 hole score of 95 to finish 23rd among the field.

Our Golf Dawgs finished 11th in the tournament with Chase Claborn ranking 19th in the field with a nice round of 80 at Eagles Nest.

Nice job to all.
