Bulldog Battalion participates in Lake Cumberland Cleanup, collects most trash, rids shorelines of most tires during event

Twenty-eight cadets from the Clinton County High School Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Bulldog Battalion, participated in the Annual Lake Cumberland Cleanup, Saturday, September 17, 2016. This annual event is hosted by the Friends of Lake Cumberland, that provided trash bags, gloves, and prizes.

Grider Hill Marina provided three pontoons to the Bulldog Battalion. Chief Warrant Officer Ron Cook, Master Sergeant John Thomure, and Lucas Dalton supervised the crews on each boat.

The Bulldog Battalion removed 119 bags of trash and 31 tires from the shoreline of the lower end of Lake Cumberland. After the cleanup, Lure Lodge provided all participants with food and drink at the Lake Cumberland State Park picnic area. The Bulldog Battalion won first Prize for most trash collected and first prize for most tires collected.

Thanks to our cadets, one of Clinton County’s natural resources, Lake Cumberland, remains as beautiful as ever.
