The Clinton County High School football team hosted a special military appreciation event called Troop Dreams Friday night during halftime of its game against Caverna. The event will help make a deserving military family’s wishes come true.

The final donation amount of $1,672.56 will be given to a pre-approved, pre-qualified military family in Kentucky or Tennessee who has not had the opportunity to experience many things we Americans take for granted, due to deployment, injury, disability and/or financial limitations.

The event was made possible in-part by football team member Jon Allen Cross, Cross had read about the charity and asked his mom for her help, followed by help from the team.

According to Head Coach Jamie Miller’s wife, Trisha, everyone was thrilled to have this opportunity to help.

“We could not have done this without the support of CCHS Football fans,” Trisha Miller said.

Head Coach Jamie Miller was thrilled about the opportunity and the support his players have shown this year.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our young football players to experience a valuable educational life lesson and truly understand the importance of making a real difference to those less fortunate,” Jamie Miller said. “We were honored to see the pride, patriotism and emotion when the flags and towels were waved; our own military families standing in the stadium, the fireworks and the song, God Bless the USA played. It was emotional. We are thankful Jon Allen brought this to our attention. I am certain we will discuss making this an annual event with our team.”

The team also wanted to offer a special thanks to Keystone Foods that donated $500, as well as Cowboy Charcoal that donated $350.
