Since the early days, Albany and Clinton County have beckoned the rest of the world to come and visit during the annual fall celebration dubbed after our locale in the bottom region, or “foothills” of the Appalachian Mountain Chain.

This year will be no different as once again organizers are set to present yet another version – this one the 37th – of our annual Foothills Festival and again they join all of Albany and Clinton County in sending out the long-standing invitation to every one to “Come See It Our Way!”

While the bulk of the 2016 lineup of events is set to begin with next week’s Foothills Beauty Pageants on Thursday, October 13, a couple of traditional early events are set to be held this weekend to get things off and running and put everyone in a festive mood for the upcoming event.

For our readers, we are once again proud to offer with this week’s issue of the Clinton County News, our annual Foothills Festival Preview that gives an overview of the events on tap next week during the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday schedule.

The preview also features a few photographs taken from the 2015 Foothills Festival.

From the lineup of children’s events, to Friday’s parade and into Saturday’s car show and arts and crafts booths and, of course, the ever popular Foothills Lip Sync contest, not to mention the many slated musical entertainment venues that will be on hand, the upcoming 2016 Foothills Festival has the makings to once again live up the traditional goal of being “bigger and better” then ever.

Rest up for the next few days, try to shed a few pounds in anticipation of enjoying the offerings in the food court and make your plans by perusing our Foothills Preview.
