The Clinton County Bulldogs traveled to Lynn Camp Friday night in hopes of pulling out a win, but the Wildcats had other plans.

By the time the final buzzer sounded, Lynn Camp defeated the Dawgs, 41-32.

“We had them at fourth and 12 I think and we got a bad call, defensive passer interference, which moved them up to have a first down and they scored,” Head Coach Jamie Miller said. “At the time we were within three points, but after that we had to have two touchdowns and we couldn’t pull it off.”

Noah Pruitt had 21 carries for 111 yards, including two rushing touchdowns, Corey Arms had 11 carries for 37 yards, Jordan Davis had five carries for 23 yards, while Josh Shelton had one carry for two yards and C.J. Smith had one carry for 11 yards and a touchdown.

Passing, Pruitt had 11 completions for 135 yards including a touchdown pass. Pruitt also had three two-point conversions.

Smith had eight catches for 108 yards and Christian Carpenter had three catches for 68 yards.

On defence, Carpenter led the team with 11 tackles, followed by John Stearns with eight, Arms with six and Jon-Allen Cross with six.

“We had some opportunities that we could have capatialized on,” Miller said. “It’s hard to compete like that when everything is going against you.”

This week the Bulldogs will travel to Red Boiling Springs this Friday night.

“Our goal now is to finish 6-4,” Miller said. “Our focus now is Red Boiling Springs. They are struggling this year and have one win this season over Pickett County. We are going to have a great week of practice this week and get ready for them.”
