The Clinton County Bulldogs pulled out all the stops Thursday night as Jenkins came into Bulldog Field.

Clinton County picked up its fourth win of the season 55-0. This was the first shutout game of the season for the Bulldogs’ defense. Head Coach Jamie Miller said he thinks Jenkins only recorded two first downs for the entire game.

“I was a little bit worried about the focus going into the game. We were a little excited. I think they were confident in winning, but I didn’t think they were overconfident,” Miller said. “They could have had some things go their way at first and got their heads up and we could have had things go bad. It’s happened before.”

Miller said he has been on the other end of that several times this season.

“We controlled the line of scrimmage for the entire game,” Miller said. “We had good field position all night long. They kept their focus all night long. I saw some good things from kids who play back up rolls. A couple of them will actually earned some more playing time.”

With one game left in the season, Coach Miller and his team will have a bye-week this week and will spend next week getting ready for Jackson County on October 28.

Thursday night’s game was the final home game of the season and the seniors of this year’s group ended its home season with the shutout win.

“We had our backup offense in during the second half and we were still moving the ball,” Miller said. “That looks promising. It helps the moral a lot, but what we need to do is enjoy the win and move on to get ready for Jackson County.”

Jordan Davis drove a ball into the endzone Thursday night as the Bulldogs hosted Jenkins. Clinton County pulled to 4-5 on the year with the 55-0 win.
