Marshall P. Butler, 78, Linton, Indiana and a native of Albany, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Elmer and Bercia Byrd Butler and a member of Linton Christian Church. He retired in Bloomington where he worked as a service technician He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Sandra, a brother, Morris Butler, and a nephew, Anthony Butler.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Mitchell Butler; two sons, Brad (Janie) Butler, Clayton, Indiana; Brian (Billie Jo) Butler, Dugger, Indiana; David (Donna) Butler and Donnie Butler, all of Albany; four sisters, Doris (Roy) Leach, New Castle, Indiana; Denise (Kirby) Beaty, Nicholasville, Kentucky; Janice Davis, Albany; Patty (Chris) Clark, Jamestown, Tennessee: two aunts, Bonza Witt and Brenda Denney, both of Albany; six grandchildren, Austin, Zac, Jordan, Tanner, Hunter, and Daisy, and three great-grandchildren, Lily, Dahlia, and Violet.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Newkirk’s Funeral Home with Pastor Archie Ellett officiating. Internment was in Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana. Arrangements were made through Newkirk’s Funeral Home of Linton, Indiana.
