Dawgs headed to Jackson County for finale

Our Bulldogs, fresh off a week-long break with an open week last week, will be heading to Jackson County, Kentucky in the far reaches of eastern Kentucky this Friday night for the season ending contest in this 2016 football campaign.

Coach Jamie Miller’s Dawgs will be sporting a 4-5 record as they head to the Generals’ field to take on the 3A opponent to close out our gridiron campaign, as the Bulldogs continue to be playing schedules designed to help build our program by not being in contention for the post-season playoff structure.

At stake for the Bulldogs is the chance to go .500 on the season, hoping to pick up a win to finish 5-5 while a loss to the Generals would mean a 4-6 finish.

Either way, the program has shown vast improvements over the past few years, with increased participation from both the student athletes and local fan base.

Jackson County will also be ending its’ regular season play when they face the Bulldogs this Friday night, taking the field with an overall 2-7 record and coming off a 68-44 loss this past Friday night at the hands of Bell County and they will face Estill County (7-2) in the first round playoff game next week.

Kickoff for Friday night’s matchup between Clinton County and Jackson County is set for 7:00 p.m., and the weather should be ideal for Friday night football with clear skies, little or no chance for rain and temperatures at game time expected to be in the low 60s, dropping to the mid 50s very quickly. Jackets and stocking hats would be ideal.

Nice year for our Volley Dawgs

The 2016 season came to an end Monday night for our Clinton County Volley Dawgs when they fell 0-3 to one of the top teams from the 4th Region, Logan County.

Still, it was a very nice year, finishing with a 16th District Runner-up title and advancing to this week’s 4th Region Tournament before seeing the season come to an end.

Congrats to our Volley Dawgs on a very good season.
