Winter Wonderland Craft Show is November 12

The Winter Wonderland Craft Show will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 9-3 at the Clinton County Fairgrounds main building. Come see many craft and product vendors, have some good food from the high school Leo club, and have your picture made with Santa. Admission is free to the public. Byrdstown Christmas Parade

December 3, will include several contests

The town of Byrdstown, Tennessee will be holding its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m., with line-up at 10:45 a.m. at the Pickett County High School parking lot. Judging begins at 12:15 p.m.

Parade contests will include several categories for floats, costumes, horses, mules, pets, vehicles and others. The parade theme will be “Christmas Memories”.

An awards ceremony will follow the parade at the Pickett County Library at 2:30 p.m.

Pickett Relay For Life fundraiser

The Relay for Life of Pickett County Committee will have a fundraiser at the Farmhouse Restaurant on Hwy. 111 in Byrdstown, Tennessee on Thursday, November 3 from 4-8 p.m. Door prizes will be given each hour and you must be present at time of the drawing to win. Your support of this event will be greatly appreciated. A portion of the sales, tips, and designated donations will go to the Pickett County Relay For Life. All proceeds received will go to the 2016 Relay For Life of Pickett County for the American Cancer Society for cancer research, patient support programs, Hope Lodge, etc. The RLF of Pickett County would like to thank the Farmhouse Restaurant owners, Malcolm, Jenny, Ethan and Bethany Johnson for this opportunity.

Mark your calendars for Monday, November 7 because Nashville Magician Tim Friday will be performing at The Farmhouse Restaurant on Hwy. 111 in Byrdstown, Tennessee from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The Nashville Magician not only performs a stand up magic show that is exciting for the whole room, he also entertains with close up magic that requires audience participation.

You’re invited to a 4-H Sally!

You’re invited to a 4-H Sally on Saturday, November 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clinton County Middle School gym. Admission is $2 for students (grades 4-12) and $1 adults. School board to hold work session and regular business meeting

Clinton County Board of Education is scheduled to hold a work session Thursday, November 10 at 4:30 p.m. and its regular business meeting Monday, November 14 at 5 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Central Office board room and are open to the general public.

Veterans program at Peolia

On Sunday, November 6 at 11 a.m., Peolia United Methodist Church will have a veterans program presentation by Jim Sayre as President Abraham Lincoln. All veterans and the public are invited to attend. The church is located one mile south of the Albany square on Hwy. 738 (Wolf River Dock Road).

Relay For Life

‘Purple in the Pulpit’ and

‘Paint the Town Purple’ day

Mark your calendar’s for Sunday, November 13 as the Clinton County Relay For Life Committee is encouraging the community to take part in two related events.

Purple in the Pulpit invites all pastors and congregations to ‘stand strong and wear purple’ to church in support of Relay For Life. Cancer survivors will be recognized.

Citizens are also asked to wear purple on that date to show support for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.
