The entire student body at Clinton County Middle School gathered last Wednesday morning to join with the faculty and staff in a celebration marking a historical event for the school.

Following the last report regarding student testing, Clinton County Middle School, for the first time in school history, was named a Proficient School.

The Proficient designation is an accomplishment the school has been working toward for several years.

“This is the first time in the history of the Clinton County Middle School that we have been designated a Proficient School,” Scott told the Clinton County News. “It is something we have worked toward for years. It took everybody to make it possible including kitchen, custodial, office, transportation, nurse, parents, para-professionals, FRYSC, coaches, volunteers, teachers, Central Office Staff and the Clinton County Board of Education. Our staff has worked diligently to ensure that all students are successful.”

Several special events designed to celebrate and reward the students and staff were held last Wednesday at the school.
