Bringing books to life

Since she was a young child, Kenzie Boils has known the importance of reading. From the encouragement of her mother and teachers, she has always known that reading is key to success in many areas.

When deciding on an area where she felt she could be of assistance in her community, Kenzie decided that she wanted to work with children and try to encourage a love of reading.

Kenzie has paired with the Clinton County Public Library where she works with her mentor, Gayla Duvall, to help aid in this love of learning.

Weekly, Kenize goes to the library after school where she reads books to children, has activities for them associated with the books she shares, and helps to encourage reading at home on their own.

Through her senior project, Kenzie is hoping that she can, at least in some small way, be a benefit to the young children in the community and to the community in general.
