John Junior Latham, 85, Pamplin, Virginia and a native of Albany, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Minnie Elvia Catron and John Sherdan Latham and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Sholes and Halma Dickerson and three brothers, James, William and Daniel Latham. He was a member of Prospect Gospel Tabernacle and retired from the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Shirlen Latham, Pamplin, Virginia; a daughter, Kathy Hockensmith, Nicholasville, Kentucky; a sister, Etta Bruce, Albany; a sister-in-law, Brenda Latham, Tennessee: two grandchildren, Alisha and Crystal Hockensmith and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Prospect Tabernacle with final resting place in the church cemetery with military rites. Arrangements were made through Robinson Funeral Home.
