The Bulldog Battalion varsity rifle team outscored the White County (Tennessee) High School rifle team, in a Head to Head Marksmanship Competition, November 21, 2016, at Clinton County High School, with a score of 897 to 844, out of 1,000 points possible.

The top three shooters were Dawson Waid (Clinton County) with a 246, Jared Upchurch (Clinton County) with a 233, and Damion Kelsey (White County) with a 227.

The Bulldog Battalion Rifle Team traveled to York Institute in Jamestown, Tennessee November 28, 2016 and Clarkrange, Tennessee December 1, 2016.
