John O. “Slick” Lowhorn, 91, Albany, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Pickett County Care and Rehab in Byrdstown, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Charlie and Daisy Mae (Shelley) Lowhorn, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Lucile (Radford) Lowhorn; five brothers, Jesse, Thomas, Joe Bob, Noah Carl and Fredrick Lowhorn; a sister, Margaret Honeycutt; and a granddaughter, Paula Gayle Upchurch.
He is survived by three daughters, Hazel (Gayle) Upchurch, Linda (Eddie) Flowers, all of Albany; Sharon (Bob) Green, McDonough, Georgia; two sisters, Jane Appleby and Dot Huddleston; four brothers, Will Edd, James Martin, Homer and Ruel Lowhorn, all of Albany; four grandchildren, Cheryl Upchurch, Adam (Pattie) Upchurch, Brent Flowers and Taylor (Dustin) Summers; and five great-grandchildren, Amber Allen, Carley Upchurch, Asa Flowers and Emery Rose and Grant Patton Summers.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with pastor Donnie Shelley officiating. Final resting place in Peolia Cemetery. Arrangements were made through Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany. Online condolences may be made at www.campbell-new.com.
