To the Editor,
“The stones inside your mind might be small, but fight like giants,” says a Christian song. The boy David fought a real living giant with a small stone and a sling shot. His stone hit Goliath in just the right spot to take him down to the ground. That’s where David could defeat Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:35-51.
Some of our giants are sickness, death, loneliness, fear and managing money. God is here for you and me to give us the stones we need to put our giants on their knees so we can defeat them. Ephesians 6:10-18 gives us examples of stones God provides.
God also gives us his strength, truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Holy Spirit, and prayer. As we fight the hard times we are building spiritual muscles.
God knows we need these, because the giants will keep coming after us. Sometimes we will think the giant has won, but later we will say “I made it through that. I will make it through this too.”
God will help us to be bold and courageous. Miracles still happen. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7.
