The Clinton County Bulldogs finished last week’s tournament in Brownsville with a 1-2 record, bringing its season record to 10-5 on the year.
As reported in last week’s edition, Clinton County defeated Barren County by a final of 53-50. The second game came against host Edmonson County where Clinton County lost by one, 59-58. The third and final game of the Rafferty’s/Double Dogs Caveland Classic saw the Dawgs go up against Ohio County. Clinton County lost that game by a final of 48-34.

For Clinton County, scoring only 38 points in a game could be a season low for the Dawgs.
Clinton County went up against Ohio County in the third game of the Rafferty’s/Double Dogs Caveland Classic held at Edmonson County last Wednesday.
Ohio County took the lead early in the game, scoring 11 first quarter points against Clinton County’s nine. At the half, Clinton County had only posted seven second quarter points, whereas Ohio County put up 13 to lead the Dawgs, 24-16.
The Dawgs were clearly not on its game against Ohio County, as Clinton County put up 10 third quarter points and only eight fourth quarter points. Ohio County scored 13 and 11 respectively in those quarters to hold on to the win, 48-34.

Clinton County jumped out to an early lead last Tuesday against Edmonson County with 20 first quarter points. At the end of the first period, Clinton County led Edmonson County 20-14 and by putting up nine points in the second quarter, led by five points at halftime.
In the third quarter, Edmonson County outscored Clinton County by one point, 16-15, to cut the lead on the Dawgs by the end of the period, 44-40.
During the final quarter, Clinton County was outscored by five points, 19-14, which would ultimately give Edmonson County the one point advantage as the buzzer sounded at the end of regulation.

Clinton County was back in action Tuesday, too late for press deadline, at home against Pickett County. The Dawgs will travel to Metcalfe County Friday to take on the Hornets. That game will immediately follow the girls’ game, which begins at 6 p.m.
