CCMS hosts Governor’s Cup competition, several students earn top finishes

On Saturday, January 21, 2017, Clinton County Middle School hosted the District 46 Middle School Governor’s Cup Competition with Cumberland, Metcalfe, and Monroe counties.

The following students placed in written assessment: Jake Boils (1st in Math), Sami Criswell (4th in Math), Eli Rains (4th in Science), David Guffey (3rd in Social Studies), Loren Little (1st in Language Arts), Moriah Moons (2nd in Language Arts & 2nd in Composition), Evan Little (1st in Arts & Humanities), Hailey Cole (2nd in Arts & Humanities), and Katie Jones (5th in Composition).

Ryan Bair, Evan Little, Loren Little, and Ethan Rains placed 2nd in Future Problem Solving (FPS).

The Quick Recall team placed 1st and the team won 1st place overall. Additionally, the Clinton County team was awarded the Katherine C. Hume Sportsmanship Award.

The teams are coached by Danielle Hicks and Ashley Braswell-Shelton.
