Lady Pirates of the Caribbean—The Musical, based on a book by Craig Sodaro with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur will be presented on the stage of Good Neighbors Theatre March 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12. Performances are at 7:00 PM Friday and Saturday evenings and 2:00 PM Sunday afternoons.

Paige Mayercik will make her debut as director for GNT and Martha Pratt, who has performed in recent GNT plays, will be Music Director. The theatre is located at 8780 Highway 111 in Byrdstown, TN.

Esmeralda, the captain of the pirates known as the Lawless Ladies, is called upon to help recover stolen gold from other plundering pirates. She and her crew disguise themselves as a shipwrecked theatrical troupe who happen upon the luckless Parrot Isle, where they are greeted by the willy-nilly Governor Don Juan Futon and his wary sister, Lucretia. With other pirates, already in the dungeon at the Governor’s palace, the place is literally swarming with pirates, as well as other crazy characters!

Nine zesty Bill Francoeur songs add energy and fun to the story of how the Lawless Ladies recover the Queen’s chest of gold doubloons, including the hysterical “Señoritas from Madrid” performance by the lady pirates, who aren’t the talented dancers they pretend to be. Lively songs, comic dance, and plenty of action including a swashbuckling pirate vs. pirate sword fight make this musical comedy a blast for performers and audience alike.

The Thursday Dress Rehearsal on March 2 has been designated as Student Night. Students can come watch the cast perform their final run through before the opening performance for a mere $5 per student.

One adult can accompany the student for free, but if a group of students or a family attend, only one adult per group or family can attend for free.

Seating is limited and admission will be taken at the door. Because this is a rehearsal, there may be pauses and director instructions taking place during the rehearsal.

Ticket prices are $12.00 plus tax/adult and $8.00 plus tax/child between three and 12 years of age. Lap babies two and under are free. Tickets will be available February 6 at the Byrdstown-Pickett County Chamber of Commerce.

Tickets may also be purchased at the Good Neighbors Theatre ticket booth on the night of the performances. All ticket sales are final. Unused tickets are non-refundable.
