During WW2, Millard Sells served in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific Theatre. He was stationed on Tinnian Island when WW2 ended when the atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese Island of Nagasaki. The Enola Gay was parked just outside his tent on Tinnian after this bombing mission. Millard took the photo pictured and said the engine was still warm at the time of the picture.

He is 90 years of age now and is living at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the veteran facility and is very happy there. The family visits him once or twice a week, depending on the weather.

Millard W. Sells, WWII Combat Marine Veteran, celebrated his 91st birthday on February 14, 2017 at the VA Hospital where he lives.
