Benton L. Smith, 78, Richmond, Indiana and a native of Albany, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Reid Health. He was the son of the late Bud J. and Gladys Smith and retired after 21 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Lucette Marcum Smith; a daughter, Kathy S. (Tony) Martin, Hagerstown, Indiana; a son, Gregory M. (Barb) Smith; two sisters, Myrtie Ann Cash, Richmond, Indiana; Mary A. (Clayton) Dicken, Albany; four grandchildren, Joshua L. Coyle, Jessica L. Gross, Victoria Walker and Craig Martin; and four great-grandchildren, Kaleb Gross, Gabriel Coyle, Elin and Colter Walker.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with final resting place in Crown Hill Cemetery with military rites. Online condolences may be made at www.stegallberheideorr.com.
