My Grandma – loves cooking and making her family happy

Have you ever been so rushed that you want to pull your hair out? Well, my grandma is always rushed with seventeen grandchildren on the loose. My grandma, Wilma Moons, has short gray hair and always wears skirts. She wears glasses and has five kids. Her favorite hobbies are cooking and making her family and friends happy. My grandma loves to go to church. I have never seen my grandma miss church. She taught me how to cook and keep a smile on my face. I love my grandma. She does so much for me, and that’s why I would like to nominate my grandma for the Kentucky Grandparent of the Year.

I love church, but not as much as my grandma does. She would not miss church for anything. My grandma is a strong believer. She has taught me everything I need to know about the great Lord above. My grandma does not sit in front like other people, but let me tell you she cannot be distracted by anyone. She is content as a rabbit munching on a carrot. I love that God gave me a great grandma because if I didn’t have her I would not know what to do. I wish I could be as great a Christian as my grandma is.

I have lots of special memories with my grandma, but one that I’ll never forget is when me and her always made stuff together. Our favorite thing to make is rice crispy treats. They are good, but if you want me to tell you the truth I didn’t really make them. I still love to help her a little bit because that’s what makes it a memory. That’s why when I see rice crispy treats I think of when me and my grandma made yummy desserts just like rice crispy treats.

Christmas with Grandma is so special, and I look forward to it every year. My grandma has been doing Christmas at her house ever since I was born. It is really fun. First, we open presents. Then, we look in our stocking. After that we eat all the desserts that she has in store for us. Then, last but definitely not least, we read a Bible story and the kids act it out. We read our poems from our Christmas play. We just have the best time. I forgot one thing. We also sing because my whole family loves to do it. It is so fun. That is why I like Christmas at Grandma’s.

I am so glad I wrote this essay because it made me see how much I care about my grandma and how much she cares about me. I love her, and if she doesn’t win first place she will win first place in my heart. By writing this essay it helped me realize how much she cares about me and my family. That is why I am glad to nominate my grandma for Kentucky Grandparent of the Year.
