The Clinton County High School JROTC Bulldog Battalion Drill Team won 2nd Place in the Armed Platoon Inspection Category and 3rd Place in the Armed Platoon Regulation Drill Category, at the Eastern Kentucky University JROTC Drill Classic, March 4, 2017, in Richmond, Kentucky.

Both were commanded by Senior Cadet Major Dawson Waid, the Bulldog Battalion Executive Officer and Drill Team Commander. Dawson is also a member of the United States Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program and will leave for active duty later this summer. Another key Senior member of this Drill Team is Devon Redman, the Cadet Command Sergeant Major of the Bulldog Battalion. Devon is in the United States Army Delayed Entry Program, leaving for active duty later this summer.

This was against some of the best JROTC Drill Teams in Kentucky. Louisville Male, Bullitt Central, Live Oaks, Central Hardin, Wayne County, McCreary Central, East Carter, Madison Central, George Rogers Clark, and Clinton County competed in this JROTC Drill Classic.

Clinton County also took three of the Top Ten Individual Knockout Drill Medals in the Armed and Unarmed Knockout Drill events. They were Joe Edwards (3rd Place Unarmed Knockout), Harrison Wallace (4th Place Unarmed Knockout), and Haley Herald (4th Place Armed Knockout).

One hundred and twenty-five cadets competed in each of the Knockout Drill events. The top five in each Knockout Event received medals.

All members of the Bulldog Battalion Drill and Color Guard Teams gave the best performance of the year. This was a great day for the Bulldog Battalion.
