Glenn O. McWhorter, 97, Albany, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Pickett County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Byrdstown, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Grover C. and Dora (Carter) McWhorter and was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Kidwell) McWhorter, a sister, Hattie Lena Thrasher, and six brothers, Oscar, Ralph, Lloyd, Reed, Fred and Horace McWhorter.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sue McWhorter, Albany; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Doug Choate, Venice, Florida; a brother, Harold McWhorter, Albany; a sister, Cristell Curry, Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Stacey Hickman, Marla Harmon, Beth Choate, Karen Caldwell and Emily Groves; also 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Nelson and Pastor Bob Sawyer officiating. Final resting place in McWhorter-Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Clear Fork Baptist Church Missionary Fund. Arrangements were made through Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany.
