Ansley Stalcup, a former Clinton County Lady Bulldogs basketball standout player and now a member of the Lindsey Wilson Lady Raiders basketball team, has earned Mid-South Conference Academic honors, conference officials announced recently.

Stalcup was one of ten members of the Lindsey Wilson women’s basketball program to earn that honor.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

Stalcup played one year for Asbury University before transferring to Lindsey Wilson for the 2016-17 season.

The Lady Raiders are currently playing in the 2017 NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Tournament and are playing first round games in Billings, Montana.

The Lady Raiders are in the tournament as a No. 1 seed, with a 30-2 record.

Stalcup is the daughter of J.R. and Patricia Stalcup of Albany.
