Soil Conservation meeting

The Clinton County Soil Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting Friday, March 24 at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room of the FSA/NRCS office. The meeting is open to the public.

Spay and Neuter Clinic asking for volunteers

The FURever Friends of Albany Spay and Neuter Clinic will be having an informational meeting Thursday, March 30 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Building on Hopkins Street. Purpose of the meeting will be to update those interested about the service and schedule training of volunteers. Spring Revival

Clinton County Care and Rehabilitation center is hosing a Spring Revival for the elders and the public, featuring the ministries of area ministers. The services will be at the nursing home each evening at 3:15 p.m. beginning this Sunday, March 26. Sunday evening, Jeff Brown, Albany First Baptist will be the evangelist; Monday evening, Michael Allen, Chaplain at Signature Healthcare in Pickett County will be guest minister. Michael ministers both in word and song. Then Tuesday, Jim England, of Stony Point Baptist, will bring the final message of the revival.

Park board regular meeting

The Recreation/Park Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday, March 30 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the public.

LCADD Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan meeting

The Lake Cumberland Area Development District (LCADD) is conducting a meeting to review the final draft of the Lake Cumberland Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The meeting will be held on March 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. central time at LCADD, located at 2384 Lakeway Drive in Russell Springs. The meeting will take place prior to LCADD’s regular board meeting.

The deadline for final comments and local approval is April 12. The plan will then be submitted to the state office of hazard mitigation and to FEMA for final approval.

The geographic scope of the Lake Cumberland Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan includes 14 incorporated cities and all unincorporated land within Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Pulaski, McCreary, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne counties. The Plan, which is updated every five years, forms the foundation for long-term strategies to reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction and repeated damage.
