Another serious accident that occurred last week on the 127 Bypass hospitalized a local woman with life-threatening injuries.

According to a report from Kentucky State Police Post 15, Trooper Jason Warinner is investigating the collision that occurred last Wednesday, March 22 at 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ky. 738 and U.S. 127.

The report says that 67-year-old Peggy Groce of Albany was operating a westbound 2012 KIA Forte on Ky. 738 and failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound 1998 Kenworth dump truck being operated by 61-year-old Keith Anderson of Burkesville.

Groce pulled into the path of the dump truck and was struck, according to the report. Groce was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where she was listed in critical condition following the crash. Anderson, who was wearing a seat belt, refused treatment at the scene.

Trooper Warinner was assisted at the scene by multiple agencies, including the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Albany Fire Department and Clinton County EMS.
