Albany City Council meeting

Albany City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, April 4 at 5 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is open to the public. Healthy Choices Cooking Class

A “Healthy Choices” cooking class will be held at the Clinton County Public Library Tuesday, April 11th at 5:00 p.m. Classes are free and open to the public. Call the Clinton County Extension Office at 387-5404 to reserve your spot.

Healthy Choices for Every Body

If the idea of eating nutritious food seems expensive and difficult, it may be surprising to learn it can be more affordable and simple to live a healthy lifestyle than you think. The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service makes the healthy choice the easy-and-affordable choice. Through the Nutrition Education Program’s Healthy Choices for Every Body series, participants focus on building a healthier plate, preparing easy meals that taste great and saving money on groceries. Lunch and Learn

Want to learn more about stretching your food dollar, better nutrition without a huge price tag, and food safety? If so, the Cooperative Extension Nutrition Education Program will be hosting a Lunch and Learn class at the Clinton County Public Library Tuesday, April 4th at 11:00 am. A new, tasty recipe will be demonstrated and sampled. Classes are free and open to the public. Wildlife-woodland management series

The Clinton and Cumberland County Extension offices are hosting a wildlife and woodland management series beginning in April. The first meeting will be on predator control for livestock. UK Wildlife Extension Specialist Matt Springer will present on dealing with black vultures and coyote. For cow/calf producers having issues with the black headed vulture, Dr. Springer will have some interesting tips on how to deal with them, as well as coyote. This meeting will be held at the RECC building in Albany on Tuesday, April 4th beginning at 6 p.m. For more information please contact the Clinton County Extension Office at 606-387-5404. These meetings will satisfy CAIP cost-share educational requirements.

Relay for Life to meet, finalize plans

The Clinton County Relay for Life will be holding its final pre-event meeting this Thursday, March 30, at 6:00 p.m. at the Clinton County Extension Office. It will be the last formal meeting before the Relay event.

The meeting will also see plans finalized for the Survival Dinner, Bank Night and the Softball Pink Out, all set for April 13.

A representative from each team or organization should make every effort to attend this important meeting.

Breakfast with the fire fighters

Come join us for Breakfast with Firefighters! All you can eat pancake breakfast at AES cafeteria, Saturday, April 8th from 7:00-10:00 a.m. Advance tickets are available through any member of Albany Fire Dept. or the Ladies Auxiliary. Tickets may also be purchased at City Florist or Monticello Banking Company. Cost is $5 per person, with all proceeds going to benefit Albany Fire Dept. for equipment and needs to help them better serve the community.

30 year reunion

The CCHS Class of 1987 30th year reunion will be held May 5-8, 2017 at East Port Marina. Looking for more information and other classmates who are not in the Facebook group. Class of 1967 to meet

The Clinton County Class of 1967 will have a planning meeting for the 50th reunion on Friday, April 7, fat 4 p.m. at Junction Station.

Spay and Neuter Clinic asking for volunteers

The FURever Friends of Albany Spay and Neuter Clinic will be having an informational meeting Thursday, March 30 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Building on Hopkins Street. Purpose of the meeting will be to update those interested about the service and schedule training of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for the clinic, would like more information, or would like to donate supplies, please call 1-888-725-2269 or contact chairwoman Janet Brummett at 606-306-9561.

Park board regular meeting

The Recreation/Park Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday, March 30 at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Park. The meeting is open to the public.
