The Annual “Run for the Roses” 5K was held Saturday with a start time of 8 a.m. and this year’s event, although cooler and rainy, went off without a hitch. Several runners of all ages participated in the event, but numbers were down this year with only 67 signed up to run. Coordinator of the event, April Speck, believes the weather played a huge role in this year’s entry numbers. The overall male winner was Luis Mazariegos (20:01) and the overall female winner was Nisha West (23:40).
