KYTC advises motorists to plan alternate route

Beginning Friday, May 19, the intersection of KY 61 and KY 90 (at traffic light) in Cumberland County will be temporarily closed to through traffic as crews begin pavement improvements.

The closure will begin at approximately 7 a.m. CDT on Friday and will reopen at approximately 7 a.m. on Friday, May 26.

During closure, all businesses will have access maintained.

Signed detour routes will be posted.

Westbound on KY 90 (Albany to reconnect with KY 90)

In Albany take U.S. 127 north to Russell Springs and connect with the Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway (LN 9008) west toward Columbia. Take Exit 30 on south KY 68 in Metcalfe County to KY 163 south and reconnect with KY 90.

Once the intersection is reopened, work will continue on the project with traffic reduced to two lanes of travel. In addition, lane widths will be reduced to 10 feet.

Work is scheduled to be complete within forty calendar days. The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
