The Clinton County Fairgrounds is going to be a busy place over the next several days, and the place to be for many people, locally and out-of-town. After the Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot Concert ends late Friday night, the fairgrounds will be open again hours later on Saturday morning with the kick-off of the 2017 Clinton County Fair.

The county fair will begin Saturday morning, June 10 and run through the next Saturday night, June 17 with programs, shows and performances that are sure to have something for all ages to enjoy.

Every day or night of the fair, multiple programs will be available, including main events and other events at different locations for an alternative for patrons to enjoy.

The 2016 Clinton County Fair began a new pricing system for the gate admission, a one price for all system that covers every event, program and carnival ride that is available each night.

Although it was a new and different system, it seemed to work out and the way that the majority of county fairs in Kentucky and across the nation use, more or less streamlining the process by the one payment for all system, according to Clinton County Fair Board President Mike Matthews, who announced the new gate admission system prior to last year’s fair.

Each night of the show, all persons must pay the gate admission price, with no further charges, including the carnival rides, main and secondary shows and programs throughout the night.

Also, to move the gate entry along, the fair board is requesting that patrons please have all windows rolled down and all persons in the vehicle visible to cut down on the wait time of getting into the fairgrounds.

It should also be noted that all event start times are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, i.e., rain delays.

As is usually the case with each new fair, not only are the standard, most popular programs rescheduled, but new programs and events as well.
