Living Work Ministries

youth fundraiser

The Speed of Light fundraiser by the Living Word Ministries youth with Precious Princess parties will be held Saturday, July 15.

On Saturday, from 12 noon to 3 p.m., some of your favorite princesses and super heroes will be available for pictures! Bring the kids for this awesome opportunity and support a great cause.

We encourage all our attendees to dress up in your favorite princess or super hero outfit. Backgrounds will be set up in the multi-purpose room of Living Word Ministries in Burkesville. This event is BYOC (Bring Your Own Camera). Take as many pictures as you want with your own camera to share on social media or print out and frame.

Admission is $10 for one child (12 and under) and $5 adults. For families with multiple children, the first child is $10 and $5 for every child after that

Children must be accompanied by an adult for this event. The fundraiser for Speed of Light, which is an Assemblies of God missions program, is geared to share the Word of God with those around the world.

Gospel Christian School to open

Gospel Christian School, located on Old Burkesville Road and a ministry of Gospel Baptist Church, will begin classes on October 4, 2017 for kindergarten through 12th grades. Special service at Lands Chapel

Lands Chapel United Methodist Church have special services Sunday, July 16 with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. A potluck meal welcoming new pastor David McCarty and family, as well as kindergarten and high school graduates will follow the service. Everyone is welcome.

Beech Bottom Baptist Church will be having Vacation Bible School “Finding and Feeding the Multitude” July 18-21 6:30-8:30 nightly. Classes for all ages.

Singing Down on the Farm

The 15th annual Singing Down on the Farm will be held Tuesday, July 25 at 6 p.m. Central Time at 1630 Leslie Road Hwy. 691 in Burkesville, Kentucky featuring The Singing Cookes and Cooke Brothers from Kingsport, Tennessee, The Sneed Family from Glasgow, and Driven from Somerset. Admission is free. Bring your lawn chair. Come out and enjoy a night of southern gospel music. A large tent will be provided for your comfort. Car and bike show at

Foothills Community Church

The Foothills Community Church youth group will be having a car and bike show to help raise money to send the youth to church camp.

The show will be held at Foothills Community Church Saturday, 2084 Burkesville Rd., Albany, KY, July 15, 2017 from 10 am to 2 pm CST. Rain out date will be August 18th, 2017 and will follow the same schedule.

Judging will start at 11:00 a.m. with awards at 2:00 p.m.

Entry fee is $10 for each class entered. We have a class for everyone. We have flyers posted throughout town.
