Michael G. McWhorter, 66, Somerset, Kentucky and formerly of Albany, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of Albany United Methodist Church, son of the late Reed and Louise McWhorter and was also preceded in death by a brother, Max, and a sister, Chris McWhorter.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce McWhorter; a son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Stevie McWhorter, all of Somerset, Kentucky; three sisters, Mitzie Flowers, Shirley Daniels, Becky (Nicky) Smith, all of Albany; three brothers, Donnie (Jane) McWhorter, Floyds Knob, Indiana; David (Judy) McWhorter, Albany; Kem McWhorter, Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn McWhorter, Albany, and Norma (Darrell) Moody, Tennessee; his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Betty Simpson, Monterey, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Mark (Dawn) Simpson, Algood, Tennessee; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Talbott Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Watts officiating. Final resting place in McWhorter-Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements were made through Talbott Funeral Home of Albany.
